This initiative is designed to make higher education not just a dream but a reality for Texas families earning less than $125,000 annually. By covering tuition and mandatory fees not already met by federal or state aid, TSU is paving the way for a more accessible, affordable, and equitable future.

Who Can Apply?

The Tiger Promise is designed for:

First-time freshmen or new transfer students.

Texas residents with a family income of $125,000 or less.

Students maintaining at least a 2.5 GPA while completing 30 credit hours annually.

Freshmen can benefit for up to four years (eight consecutive semesters), including summer and winter terms. Transfer students, on the other hand, are eligible for two years (four semesters). The awards are granted on a first-come, first-served basis, contingent on available funds.

Current and Returning Students, Don’t Worry!

TSU hasn’t forgotten about its current students or those looking to return to campus. Undergraduates already enrolled can also qualify by meeting the Continuing Student eligibility criteria, which includes maintaining a 2.5 GPA and enrolling in 30 credit hours annually. Additionally, readmitted students who haven’t enrolled for over a year or three consecutive semesters may also qualify for this life-changing program.

Eligible students should act fast to secure their spot! Here’s how:

Submit a FAFSA or TASFA application by April 1, 2025 (for the fall semester).

Complete your admissions application by March 1, 2025 (fall enrollment) or

October 1, 2025 (spring enrollment).
