Jet Setters Ball Soars to Success, Garnering Over $600,000 for Lone Star Flight Museum Exhibits, Education, and STEM Programs, Honoring Founder Robert L. Waltrip

The Lone Star Flight Museum was transformed into a Monte Carlo oasis, adorned with coastal hues and vibrant floral displays, resonating with operatic voices. This year's gala, raising an impressive $620,000, not only paid homage to museum founder Robert L. Waltrip but also commemorated Veteran's Day, honoring those who have valiantly served our country. Premier sponsors, including CenterPoint Energy, ConocoPhillips, and Bette and Ralph Thomas, alongside other key contributors, played a pivotal role.

Hosted by KPRC Channel 2 Meteorologist Khambrel Marshall, the gala, spearheaded by co-chairs Kelly and David Rose and Megan and Jason Ryan, welcomed over 500 guests. The evening featured a wine pull, big board auction, paddle raise, and a lively live auction, contributing to the success of the event.

LSFM President and CEO, retired Lt. Gen. Doug Owens (USAF), shared the museum's achievements and upcoming plans, highlighting new exhibits and hands-on experiences. A poignant tribute to Robert L. "Bob" Waltrip included a touching video showcasing his business acumen, familial love, and passion for aviation.

French Riviera-themed dining by City Kitchen, dessert stations, and specialty cocktails created a delightful atmosphere, complemented by The Events Company's spectacular décor. Rusty Mertink led the exciting big board and live auction, offering coveted experiences like the U.S. Open Tennis tournament and NASCAR racing.

Guests enjoyed exclusive tours of aircraft and space shuttle simulators, explored STEM-based exhibits, flight simulators, and danced to music by DJ Druw. General Owens expressed gratitude for the gala's success, emphasizing its impact on the museum's educational programs and content growth.
