On Saturday, May 30, 2020, the Turkey Leg Hut (TLH) will hold a peaceful vigil to honor and mourn the loss of George Floyd, the Houston man who was killed Monday in Minneapolis police custody.

The vigil will be held at 7:00pm in the parking lots across the street from the Turkey Leg Hut restaurant (4830 Almeda Road).

Turkey Leg Hut Co-Founder, Lynn Price, attended Jack Yates High School and grew up down the street from George Floyd in Houston’s Third Ward.

“The Turkey Leg Hut is a pillar in this community and we want to show that we can peacefully and respectfully honor George and his family and show our support and solidarity together in times like this,” said TLH Co-Founder Lynn Price.

The vigil is open to anyone in the community who would like to come together to peacefully mourn the loss of George Floyd. Everyone in attendance must wear masks and practice safe social distancing to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
