Eugene Bullard, who became known as the Black Swallow of Death, was the first African-American pilot to fly in combat. Bullard now has a statue in his honor, unveiled last week in Warner Robins, Georgia, at the Museum of Aviation next to Robins Air Force Base, and about 100 miles south of Atlanta.
HOV/HOT Ramps Temporarily Closed at Northwest Transit Center
The State of Qatar, through its $30 million Qatar Harvey Fund, is providing a grant to Harris County for the creation of soccer fields in Precincts 1 and 4. The fields will serve a dual purpose of recreation for area residents and as water retention basins for flood mitigation. The announcement of the new fields will be made by Ambassador Al-Thani, who chairs the Fund.
