Choice Partners, Harris County Department of Education’s national purchasing cooperative, will host its annual School Nutrition and Product Expo from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, October 18, at the Humble Civic Center. This year, the expo will be superhero-themed to honor school district food service staff.

BARC to 'Clear the Shelters' with Extended Hours, Waived Adoption Fees

BARC, the City of Houston's Animal Shelter and Adoption Center, has joined NBCUniversal Local’s 2022 Clear The Shelters pet adoption and donation campaign, through August 31, 2022. As part of this year's campaign, BARC's Adoption Center will be open for additional hours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2022. All pet adoption fees will also be completely waived for the final weekend on August 27 and 28, 2022.
