The Black Excellence Brunch at the White House

The Black Excellence Brunch, now in its sixth year, founded by Trell Thomas, partnered with the White House for a celebration on the historic South Lawn. Attendees dressed in all-white to honor Black culture in Washington, D.C., creating an electric and vibrant atmosphere. The event, held in conjunction with the Congressional Black Caucus, featured President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris alongside notable guests Marsai Martin, Monica, Iyanla Vanzant, Anthony Anderson, LeToya Luckett, Yvette Noel-Schure, Karen Civil, Sherri Shepherd, Rev. Al Sharpton, Gov. Wes Moore, and Roland Martin. Locals filling the space were Commissioner Rodney Ellis, Congressman Al Green, former mayor Sylvester Turner, State Rep. Ron Reynolds, Gerald Womack, Erica Lee Carter, Lauren Ashley Simmons, Monica Green, Dr. Shawn Simmons, Joya Hayes, Carmen Turner, Chamelia Robinson, and Charlene Johnson.
