Reveal of A+ Unlimited Jesse Owens’s Mural

Photography by Vicky Pink - On Thursday, May 21, 2015, Houston Style Magazine was on hand at The Breakfast Klub for the A+ Unlimited Potential students’ reveal of their mural dedicated to the life of Jesse Owens. In February students celebrated Black History Month by participating in a series of educational and artistic activities that has now culminated into a full size mural on the wall of The Breakfast Klub. The mural that tells the story of the legacy of Olympic gold medalist Jesse Owens was reveal in a dedication emceed by Emmy award winning Kim Gagne. Helping the students with their artistic vision was award-winning artist Reginald Adams. He designed the mural with the students to reflect both ideas of Owens’s struggle and his ultimate triumph.
