Texas Southern Homecoming 2026 Brings Tigers, Southern Jaguars and HBCU Tradition to Houston

TSU Homecoming game, parade, tailgate and marching bands set for October 24

Houston is getting ready for a big dose of HBCU Homecoming energy as Texas Southern University celebrates Homecoming 2026 with football, music, tradition and plenty of Tiger pride. The celebration culminates Saturday, October 24, when the Texas Southern Tigers take on Southern University at 2 p.m. at Reliant Stadium. The Homecoming game is the centerpiece of a weeklong celebration running October 18-24 as TSU continues its Road to 100, leading to the university’s Centennial celebration in 2027. This year’s theme, Mission 99: The Final Ascent to 100, marks the final Homecoming of Texas Southern’s first century and sets the stage for a milestone year ahead.

Game Day Starts Early

For TSU fans, Homecoming game day will begin well before kickoff. The annual Homecoming Parade will step off at 8:30 a.m., beginning at Cleburne and Tierwester and concluding at Wheeler and Ennis. At 10 a.m., the celebration continues with The Ultimate Tailgate Experience on the Yard, bringing students, alumni, families and friends together before the Tigers head to Reliant Stadium.

Then it is time for football.
