As families prepare for the upcoming school year, H-E-B is continuing its longstanding commitment to supporting Texas communities through a back-to-school donation campaign benefiting Communities In Schools of Houston (CIS).

From July 29 through August 25, customers shopping online or at H-E-B locations across Texas can contribute any amount to support CIS of Houston and help provide students with the supplies they need to begin the school year prepared and confident.

The campaign reflects H-E-B’s ongoing dedication to investing in education, families and local communities. Through its partnerships with nonprofit organizations, community initiatives and customer-supported giving programs, H-E-B has consistently worked to address essential needs and strengthen the communities it serves throughout Texas.

Donations from the campaign will directly benefit Communities In Schools of Houston, which provides resources and support to K-12 students across surrounding districts and schools. During the 2025-2026 school year, CIS of Houston served students at 147 campuses across six school districts, charter schools and a college system.

For many students and families, access to basic school supplies can create an added financial challenge at the start of the school year. The H-E-B campaign helps remove those barriers by ensuring students have the tools needed to participate fully in the classroom.

The partnership builds on a longtime relationship between H-E-B and Communities In Schools of Houston, with the grocery retailer continuing to support programs that promote student success and educational opportunity.

Beyond Houston, Communities In Schools organizations across Texas served more than 122,000 students through one-on-one case-managed services and impacted nearly 900,000 students during the 2024-2025 school year across more than 1,400 campuses. The statewide network includes 27 CIS organizations working to surround students with support and help them stay in school and achieve their goals.

Customers in the Greater Houston Area can participate in the back-to-school donation campaign at H-E-B stores and online through August 27. Every contribution helps provide students with essential resources for a successful school year.
