League One Volleyball (LOVB) Houston is preparing for another championship run after unveiling its 2026-27 roster, bringing together a mix of returning stars, international competitors, and rising talent.

The roster announcement comes after a successful 2025-26 campaign in which LOVB Houston captured the regular season championship. Leading the team into Season 3 will be Head Coach Sanja Tomašević, who was named the 2026 LOVB Coach of the Year.

Tomašević said the upcoming roster reflects the organization’s continued focus on building a championship-caliber program in Houston.

The team’s foundation will be anchored by returning Founding Athletes and Olympians Jordan Thompson, Micha Hancock, and Justine Wong-Orantes.

Thompson enters the season after a record-setting 2025-26 performance, earning league MVP and Best Opposite Hitter honors after scoring more than 120 points. Hancock returns as one of the league’s top playmakers after leading the league in aces, while Wong-Orantes brings Olympic experience and defensive leadership as one of the sport’s premier liberos.

Also returning are USA National Team athletes Jessica Mruzik and Amber Igiede, along with Slovakian National Team standout Karin Palgutova.

Igiede enters the new season after being named the league’s 2026 Middle Blocker of the Year, while Mruzik and Palgutova were key contributors during Houston’s championship season.

The 2026-27 roster also features several international additions, including German National Team standout Isabel Martin, Bulgarian National Team middle blocker Nasya Dimitrova, and Ukrainian National Team member Svitlana Dorsman.

Houston will also welcome outside hitter Erika Pritchard, middle blocker Ifenna Cos-Okpalla, and libero Gillian Grimes.

The roster includes four Olympians and nine current or former National Team members representing five countries, highlighting LOVB Houston’s growing international presence and commitment to elite competition.

The upcoming season follows continued fan engagement efforts, including a previous community conversation inviting Houston fans to help shape the identity of the city’s professional volleyball team.
