TDECU has appointed Glenn Applewhite III as Market President for the Greater Houston Region, where he will oversee strategic initiatives to strengthen Member relationships, expand market presence, and support continued growth in one of the credit union’s largest and most dynamic markets.

Applewhite brings more than 24 years of experience in banking and financial services. Prior to joining TDECU, he served as Senior Vice President and Regional Manager at First National Bank and First Convenience Bank, where he managed operations for more than 45 branch locations and approximately 300 employees across Houston, Southwest Texas, and East Texas. His career has been marked by a focus on operational excellence, business development, and building high-performing teams while delivering strong client and Member experiences.
As Market President, Applewhite will play a key role in advancing TDECU’s mission of helping people prosper by deepening community connections and expanding access to financial services throughout the Greater Houston area.
TDECU President and CEO Isaac Johnson noted that Applewhite’s depth of industry experience and commitment to service position him well to lead the region as the organization continues to grow and innovate in the Houston market.
Applewhite earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Alcorn State University and completed graduate-level studies in economics at Tennessee State University.

In addition to his professional background, Applewhite is active in community engagement initiatives and has helped establish outreach programs focused on strengthening local partnerships and promoting financial literacy. He attends One Church Harvest Point and has been married to his wife, RosAnne, for 25 years. The couple has three children.
