Space Center Houston Appoints Keesha Bullock as Chief Operating and Strategy Officer

Space Center Houston announced the appointment of Keesha Bullock as its new Chief Operating and Strategy Officer, a newly created executive role aimed at strengthening leadership, execution, and long-term growth as the organization enters its next phase.

The appointment reflects Space Center Houston’s focus on continued expansion and delivering high-quality visitor and educational experiences, while maintaining a people-centered organizational culture. In the new role, Bullock will oversee strategic leadership across Guest Experience and Operations, Education, Technology, and Facilities and Infrastructure. She will work closely with senior leadership to advance organizational performance and long-term priorities.

Bullock has served in a dual capacity as Interim Chief Operating Officer and Chief Marketing and Communications Officer since fall 2024. Her expanded responsibilities formalize her role in aligning strategy and operations as the organization grows its programming, infrastructure, and community impact.

Before joining Space Center Houston, Bullock held senior leadership roles at several prominent organizations along the East Coast. Most recently, she served as Chief External Relations Officer at The Buffalo Zoo, one of Western New York’s most visited cultural institutions. Her career also includes leadership positions with the Universal Service Administrative Company, Prince George’s County Public Schools, The Heritage Foundation, Aman and Associates, Discovery Communications, and Devillier Communications. Across these roles, she led organizations through periods of growth, transformation, and increasing operational complexity.

Space Center Houston serves more than 1.3 million visitors annually and engages over 250,000 students and educators through educational programming focused on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Operated by the Manned Space Flight Education nonprofit organization, Space Center Houston generates an estimated $240 million in annual economic impact for the Greater Houston area. It is the Official Visitor Center of NASA Johnson Space Center, a Smithsonian Affiliate, a Certified Autism Center, and has been recognized by USA Today as the Best Museum in Texas.
