Houstonians are invited to honor the memory of Holocaust victims at Holocaust Museum Houston on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, for International Holocaust Remembrance Day. The Museum, located at 5401 Caroline Street, will offer free admission from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. to commemorate the six million Jews and countless other innocent victims of the Holocaust.
International Holocaust Remembrance Day was established by the United Nations in 2005 to mark the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, and Holocaust Museum Houston has observed the day annually by opening its doors to the public at no cost.
Visitors can explore the Museum’s permanent Holocaust Gallery, featuring photos, videos, artifacts, and interactive exhibits. Additional galleries include the Human Rights, Samuel Bak, and Young Diarists Galleries, along with ongoing Holocaust Survivor testimony films in the Albert and Ethel Herzstein Theater.
A highlight of this year’s visit is the featured exhibition, Anachronous, on view in the Museum’s Lester and Sue Smith Human Rights Gallery. The exhibition presents 18 digital photographs printed on breathable waterproof fabric, tracing the artist’s family across Warsaw, Buenos Aires, and Houston through five generations. The images honor the legacies of family members who survived the Holocaust, as well as those who perished.
Complimentary tickets are required and can be reserved online at hmh.org/tickets.
