Texas food lovers will have a date to circle on their calendars this fall: the MICHELIN Guide will announce its 2026 Texas restaurant selection on Thursday, Oct. 8.

Unlike some previous MICHELIN Guide announcements that have included an in-person ceremony, this year’s Texas selection will be unveiled digitally and through an official press release issued the morning of Oct. 8. The complete selection will also be available through the MICHELIN Guide website and app.

The announcement will reveal which Texas restaurants have earned the coveted MICHELIN Star designation, as well as Bib Gourmands and other distinctions from the Guide’s anonymous inspectors.

For chefs and restaurant teams across the state, the announcement will be a major moment. The MICHELIN Guide’s inspectors dine anonymously as they evaluate restaurants, with the final selection recognizing restaurants that stand out for their food and overall culinary experience.

MICHELIN Stars are awarded at three levels: one, two or three stars, with the distinction reserved for restaurants offering exceptional cuisine. The Guide also awards Bib Gourmands to restaurants that inspectors identify as offering high-quality food at good prices.

Restaurants that do not receive a Star or Bib Gourmand can also earn a place in the MICHELIN Guide’s recommended selection, giving diners additional options to explore.

The 2026 Texas announcement will add another chapter to the state’s growing presence on the international culinary map. With Texas home to a wide range of culinary traditions and dining experiences, food enthusiasts will be watching closely to see which restaurants earn recognition this year.

The MICHELIN Guide operates in more than 60 destinations around the world and has increasingly used different formats to announce its annual selections. For Texas, the 2026 results will be released digitally rather than through a traditional MICHELIN Guide ceremony.
