Five-time Grammy winner and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Janet Jackson will make a special appearance at the 2026 Grammy Hall of Fame Gala as her landmark album Rhythm Nation 1814 is officially inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
Hosted by the Recording Academy and the Grammy Museum, the event takes place Friday, May 8, at The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, honoring some of music’s most influential recordings.
Released in 1989, Rhythm Nation 1814 became one of Jackson’s most celebrated albums, blending pop, R&B, and socially conscious themes while producing major hits like “Rhythm Nation” and “Miss You Much.” Its induction recognizes its lasting cultural and musical impact.
Newly announced performers include Erykah Badu, Grammy-winning duo Fyütch and Aura V, and Taylor Hanson. Previously announced performers include George Clinton, Josh Groban, Lucinda Williams, Norah Jones, Take 6, and Teddy Swims.
The 2026 Grammy Hall of Fame class includes 14 recordings spanning nearly a century of music history, from 2Pac’s All Eyez On Me to Radiohead’s OK Computer. Other inductees include works by Selena, Heart, Nick Drake, and Funkadelic.
Journalist Anthony Mason returns as host, with longtime Grammy producer Ken Ehrlich leading production. An online auction featuring signed guitars from artists including Charli xcx, ROSÉ, and Sabrina Carpenter will also support the Grammy Museum.
