Houston, it’s time to fuel your weekend with high-flying excitement. The Lone Star Flight Museum is hosting the very first Fleet Week Houston Navy Aircraft Display, and thanks to generous support from ExxonMobil, admission is completely free for the entire weekend.
Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 18, and Sunday, April 19, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the last entry at 3 p.m. Families, aviation enthusiasts, and curious Houstonians alike can explore an incredible lineup of Navy, Marine, and Coast Guard aircraft up close. Featured planes include modern marvels such as the F/A-18 Hornet, T-45 Goshawk, T-6B Texan II, and T-38 Talon, along with historic favorites like the CH-46 Sea Knight. This is a rare opportunity to witness the engineering, scale, and legacy of naval aviation in person.
The event is part of Houston’s inaugural Fleet Week, celebrating 250 years of the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps. Over 1,000 Sailors, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen will visit the city, providing memorable experiences and giving the community a chance to engage directly with service members and the stories behind the aircraft.
Beyond the Fleet Week display, the museum offers interactive exhibits, flight simulators, a gift shop, and Minuti Coffee, making it an all-day adventure for visitors of all ages. Parking is free, but note that only clear bags up to 12x6x12 inches are allowed, and outside food and drinks are prohibited. Security and bag checks will be required for all guests.
Whether you are an aspiring pilot, a history buff, or simply looking for a unique Houston weekend outing, the Lone Star Flight Museum’s Fleet Week display promises an unforgettable experience. Don’t miss your chance to get nose-to-nose with legendary aircraft and celebrate the men and women who keep the skies safe.
