Harris County Clerk Reminds CD‑18 Voters to Use Current District Lines for November 4 Election and Potential January Runoff

The Harris County Clerk’s Office is reminding voters that the upcoming November 4, 2025, General and Special Elections, as well as a potential January 2026 runoff for Texas Congressional District 18 (CD-18), will be conducted using the current district boundaries.

Voters residing in CD-18 will be able to participate in the November election and, if necessary, the January runoff under the existing lines. The updated district boundaries will take effect beginning with the March 2026 Primary Election. All voters are expected to receive new voter registration certificates in early 2026 reflecting the new lines.

The newly adopted boundaries, part of the state’s recent redistricting process, may result in some voters being moved to a different congressional district once the changes are implemented. The winner of the November 2025 election or the potential January runoff will serve the remainder of the current term, which runs through December 31, 2026.

Voters are encouraged to confirm their voter registration status and district before each election, review sample ballots to determine which races apply to them, and stay informed about when the new district maps take effect.

For more information, voters can visit www.HarrisVotes.com or the Texas Secretary of State’s “My Voter Portal” at www.VoteTexas.gov to verify eligibility and review updated district maps.
