A Night of Global Connection
The evening promises an inspiring lineup, featuring distinguished guest speakers, cultural performances, and community leader recognitions that echo the values of the United Nations. Attendees can look forward to networking opportunities with diplomats, local advocates, and civic leaders—each committed to building bridges that transcend borders and promote a shared global vision of peace and justice.
From musical tributes to heartfelt reflections, this year’s celebration will highlight the UN’s core pillars: human rights, sustainability, security, and social inclusion—principles that continue to guide Houston’s global and multicultural community.
Honoring 80 Years of Impact
Since its founding in 1945, the United Nations has stood as a beacon for diplomacy, humanitarian relief, and international cooperation. For eight decades, it has championed human dignity, tackled climate change, advanced women’s rights, and defended the world’s most vulnerable populations.
“Eighty years later, the United Nations remains not only relevant but essential to the world’s progress,” said Francis Page, Jr., Publisher of Houston Style Magazine. “Houston’s celebration of this milestone underscores our city’s role as a global hub of compassion, innovation, and unity.”
As part of the global #UN80 initiative, UNA-Houston’s United Nations Day celebration will also reaffirm the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all by 2030.
