Fort Bend County Libraries Hosts Boo Bash at George Memorial Library

Fort Bend County Libraries will host a festive and family-friendly Boo Bash at the George Memorial Library on Saturday, October 11, from 10:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The event will take place in the Meeting Room of the library, located at 1001 Golfview in Richmond.

Families can enjoy a variety of Halloween-themed activities and treats at this come-and-go event. Offerings include fall crafts, pumpkin-inspired snacks, and opportunities for all ages to participate in creative and engaging activities.

The event schedule includes:

10:15 a.m. – Spooky Family Story Time (Children’s Corner, all ages)
Family-friendly Halloween stories, songs, and a craft activity.

11:00 a.m. – Craft Bar & Murder-Mystery Afternoon (Meeting Room, teens and adults)
Crafting stations will allow participants to personalize books or devices, design bookmarks, or create fall-themed miniature canvases. Attendees can also participate in an interactive murder-mystery game, solving clues and deducing the story’s outcome.

1:00 p.m. – Movie Showing (Meeting Room, all ages, recommended for grades 6 and up)
An animated fantasy film based on Neil Gaiman’s bestselling book follows a young girl who discovers a hidden door to an alternate reality where her wishes come true—but sinister secrets lurk behind the seemingly perfect world. The film is rated PG.

2:30 p.m. – Creative Connections: Pumpkin-Cookie Decorating (Room 2C, grades 4-8)
Students can decorate cookies to take home, expressing their creativity while enjoying a sweet treat.

Materials and refreshments are provided by the Friends of the George Memorial Library. The program is free and open to the public.
