Houston Christian University’s Center for Christianity in Business (CCB) has introduced the CCB Scholars Scholarship, a bold new initiative aimed at cultivating the next generation of Christian business leaders. The program supports high-achieving students pursuing business degrees who demonstrate strong spiritual commitment and leadership potential.
Spearheaded by Dr. Ernest Liang, director of the CCB, the scholarship offers more than financial aid. It delivers a comprehensive, multi-year formation experience combining academic excellence, spiritual growth, and real-world business mentoring. Scholars will participate in the Fellows and Scholars Society, a student-led community focused on discipleship, fellowship, and professional development.
The inaugural cohort will include up to 20 students, primarily from Christian high schools or homeschool networks, who exhibit both academic distinction and active faith. Alongside tuition support, recipients will engage in regular discipleship meetings, annual retreats, and direct mentorship from seasoned Christian executives through CCB’s Advisory Council.
Program highlights include exclusive access to CCB events—seminars, luncheons, and workshops—designed to help students integrate Christian ethics into business practices. Scholars will explore topics such as ethical dealmaking, stewardship of financial resources, and building organizations that serve both profit and purpose.
Dr. Liang, who led the funding efforts for the first group of recipients, said the scholarship is designed to create deep, long-term relationships between students and business leaders who share their values. Plans are underway to expand funding and outreach, aiming to grow the program in scale and impact.
Unique among scholarship offerings at HCU, the CCB Scholars Scholarship reflects the Center’s recently redefined mission as a business “think tank,” grounded in three pillars: equipping students, producing thought leadership, and fostering a faith-centered community.
