Verizon Launched $5 Billion Supplier Program to Boost U.S. Small Businesses

Verizon announced a $5 billion investment over five years to support U.S. small business suppliers through its new Small Business Supplier Accelerator. The initiative aimed to create new opportunities for small businesses, including many veteran-owned companies, to join Verizon’s supplier network and work with other large corporations. The goal was to strengthen the backbone of the U.S. economy and enhance supply chain resilience.

The program built on Verizon’s longstanding support of small businesses, offering training and flexible terms such as expedited payments and modified insurance requirements. It aimed to eliminate barriers and help small businesses scale through corporate partnerships.

Verizon also continued its Small Business Digital Ready program, a free online platform offering over 50 expert-led courses, one-on-one coaching, networking opportunities, and access to funding. In partnership with LISC, Verizon opened a new grant cycle, offering $10,000 grants to eligible members who complete two resources by June 30, 2025. Since 2021, Verizon awarded $13.5 million in grants and supported nearly 500,000 small businesses—nearly halfway to its 2030 goal of reaching one million.

Beyond financial investment, Verizon’s commitment extended to equipping small businesses with digital tools and resources to drive growth, innovation, and resilience in a tech-driven economy.

Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE, Nasdaq: VZ), headquartered in New York City, reported $134.8 billion in 2024 revenue. The company serves millions worldwide and nearly all Fortune 500 firms. More at verizon.com.
