Children’s Museum Houston Raises Over $209K at 2025 Randy Allen Spring Golf Classic

Children’s Museum Houston hosted its 2025 Randy Allen Spring Golf Classic on May 1 at Memorial Park Golf Course, drawing more than 90 golfers and raising $209,821 in support of its educational mission. The event marked the second-highest fundraising total in the tournament’s history.

Chaired by Laurie Allen, Kate and Steve Gibson, and Susan and Steve Solcher, the annual fundraiser continues to honor the legacy of Randy Allen, a longtime board and advisory board member who also served as board president from 2013 to 2015. The tournament was established to carry forward Allen’s commitment to advancing accessible, community-driven education for children.

This year’s tournament featured a competitive field with standout performances. In the Gross category, the team of Jordon Emmott, Jaleel Adatia, Eric Lodge, and Mark Zemanek secured first place, followed by Landon Weis, Baker Tilney, Chris Winters, and David Leiman. In the Net category, Kate Gibson, Julie Griffin, Allison Hammer, and Martha Britton claimed top honors, with Ross Kiatta, Stuart Peterson, Reed Chapman, and Andrew Strait taking second. Closest to the hole winners included Kate Gibson among the women and Stuart Peterson among the men.

The event also featured a raffle with a variety of high-value prizes. Winners included Michelle King, Michelle Clements, Alex Chae, Austin Williams, Susan Solcher, Duncan Lamme, Kurt Hanson, and Will Carsey. Prizes ranged from gift cards and designer accessories to Astros tickets, gourmet baskets, and a signed photo of Dallas Cowboys legend Bob Lilly.

Proceeds from the tournament will support Children’s Museum Houston’s free and reduced-admission programs across more than 340 sites in the Greater Houston area. Funds will also help sustain interactive exhibits and outreach initiatives designed to promote innovative, child-centered learning throughout the community.
