As the ball drops on 2025, Walmart is rolling out its first Wellness Day of the year on Saturday, January 11th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This nationwide initiative invites families and individuals to kickstart their wellness journey with free health screenings, affordable immunizations, and expert guidance—all in one convenient location. With nearly 4,600 participating pharmacies across the country, including several right here in Houston, Walmart is making health care accessible and easy.

What to Expect at Walmart Wellness Day

Imagine a one-stop shop for your health needs—that’s exactly what Wellness Day offers. The event includes free screenings for:

• Glucose and cholesterol levels
• Blood pressure checks
• Body Mass Index (BMI)
• Vision assessments (available at select stores)

You can also protect yourself and your loved ones by taking advantage of affordable immunizations, including flu shots, COVID-19 vaccines, and even protection against mumps, measles, HPV, and more. Select locations will feature in-store giveaways and live demonstrations of wellness products to help you stay on top of your health goals.

Personalized Support for Every Stage of Life

Health is not one-size-fits-all, and Walmart understands that. The event gives families a chance to speak with pharmacists about maintaining a healthy lifestyle, medication management, and vaccine recommendations. For women who are pregnant or planning to start a family, Walmart’s pharmacists can provide guidance on nutrition—including the importance of folic acid for a baby’s development.

High-Quality Testing and Resources

Walmart pharmacies in 21 states, including Texas, offer same-day testing and treatment for strep, flu, and COVID-19. Families can also purchase combined COVID-19 and Flu A/B home tests over the counter, helping them make informed decisions about when to seek further care.

Since the program’s inception in 2014, more than 5 million free health screenings have been provided to customers. This initiative is especially impactful in underserved areas, where Walmart often serves as a primary health care resource. Over 4,000 Walmart stores are located in areas with a shortage of medical providers, making these Wellness Days a vital community service.
