You heard it right. After the sudden closure of Fish Company Taco last October, fans of the award-winning taco joint have something to celebrate. Now located at 1914 23rd St., Galveston’s beloved taco shop has been rejuvenated and reinvented with new vibes, an expanded menu, and a fresh design. 

Originally founded by the dynamic Chef Daya Myers-Hurt and her wife, Laura, the shop has always had a reputation for combining the freshest Gulf seafood with globally inspired flavors. Halili, a true son of Galveston, has honored this legacy while adding his own brand of magic. With years spent running the family business at Prestige Oysters and later opening the highly acclaimed Pier 6, Halili's commitment to showcasing the bounty of the Gulf is unmatched. The building has undergone a full facelift, courtesy of muralist Shelbi Nicole, whose vibrant tropical fish and abstract shapes greet guests before they even walk through the door. Inside, you’ll find a beachy, sun-soaked space with white-washed shiplap, teal accents, and inviting floor-to-ceiling windows. Nostalgic touches like vintage beach photos and rattan-wrapped mirrors evoke a sense of history, while new TVs and a marbled bar provide modern comforts.

Looking to relax outside? The soon-to-open 500 sq. ft. back patio, complete with new landscaping and a pergola, is the perfect hideaway for enjoying tacos and cocktails under the Texas sky.
