Literacy in the Bag Campaign Kickoff
Houston is turning a page on literacy this fall, and you’re invited! The annual Literacy in the Bag campaign is back, bigger and better, in partnership with local favorites like Texas Tamale Company, Literacy Now, and the Space Cowboys. This book drive isn’t just about gathering books; it’s about building brighter futures.
From October 14th to January 3rd, 15 HPL locations will accept book donations to benefit Title 1 elementary and middle schools, creating libraries for students who need them most. For adults, donations will go toward the Friends of HPL to support literacy programs citywide.
The kickoff event promises to be a family-friendly celebration with a slew of activities including 3D printing demos, face painting, storytelling, and games that are sure to entertain the whole crew. So, round up those gently used books and make a positive impact in the community!
