BMW Motorrad is gearing up for the prestigious BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy 2024 Namibia with the introduction of the R 1300 GS Trophy Competition Bike and the F 900 GS Trophy Marshal Bike. These bikes are designed to conquer the rugged terrain of Namibia from September 15-20, 2024, where 22 national teams—comprising six women's and 16 men's teams—will compete for the coveted trophy.
R 1300 GS Trophy Competition Bike: Built for Victory
The R 1300 GS Trophy Competition Bike, developed exclusively for this event, is engineered to perform in the most demanding conditions. This powerful machine boasts a robust boxer engine and comes equipped with advanced features like handlebar risers, engine protection bar, skid plate, frame guard, adjustable gear shift and brake levers, GS Vario rider footrests, enduro hand levers, headlight protection guard, and white handguard extensions. The aggressive off-road tires mounted on black cross-spoke wheels and a solo seat are optimized for the challenging Namibian terrain.
While this exact competition bike is not available for sale, it closely resembles the R 1300 GS Style GS Trophy model, which can be found at your local BMW Authorized dealer. This model, with its striking Racing Blue metallic color adorned with red and white stripes, embodies the spirit of adventure and is equipped with the Enduro Package Pro, offering a taste of the thrilling off-road experience.
F 900 GS Trophy Marshal Bike: Leading the Way
The GS Trophy Marshals, responsible for guiding participants through Namibia's tough landscape, will rely on the new F 900 GS Trophy Marshal Bike. This mid-size adventure bike, based on the new F 900 GS, represents BMW Motorrad's excellence in the adventure segment. With a potent 105 hp engine and a significant weight reduction of 22 lbs. compared to its predecessor, the F 900 GS Trophy Marshal Bike offers enhanced off-road capabilities, making it an ideal choice for the demanding roles of the marshals.
