Social media is a pivotal tool for universities to engage with a broad audience, including students, parents, alumni, faculty, and the local community. To enhance social media strategies within higher education, the University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) is set to host its highly anticipated second Higher Education Social Media Summit on Thursday, July 25, 2024. This year’s summit promises to deliver a wealth of knowledge with 15 insightful sessions featuring prominent higher education experts. Among the distinguished speakers is UHD’s own Vice President of Enrollment Management, Dr. Daniel Villanueva, Jr. The event’s keynote address will be delivered by Kami Watson Huyse, a renowned leader in public relations and social media strategy, who will explore the topic “Unlocking the Power of Human-Centric AI.”
Attendees can expect a deep dive into the latest social media trends and strategies tailored for higher education. Session highlights include “Creating a Presence Through Your University’s Social Media” and “Social Media & Analytics: Using Google Analytics 4 to Tell Powerful Stories about Your Audience.” The summit is designed to foster networking opportunities, allowing participants to connect with peers, exchange best practices, and enhance their social media efforts in areas such as admissions, recruitment, student engagement, and institutional branding.
