The Art Colony Association, Inc. (ACA), the nonprofit behind the Bayou City Art Festivals, has welcomed Andrea Bonner, Drue DaSilva, Gina Armstrong Evans, Kristin Jensen, Michael Macedo Meazell, Kate Robertson, and Heather Staible to its Board of Directors. The ACA also elected the following officers: Mike Pede as President, Allen Brivic as Vice President, Mary Paulette as Treasurer, and Obes Nwabara as Secretary.
“The contributions and support of our board are the heart and soul of the success of the Bayou City Art Festivals. I am thrilled to welcome our new members and thank our elected officers as they lead the Art Colony Association Board of Directors. With their experience, connections, and knowledge, our board serves to drive our mission and bring art to the Houston community while raising awareness for art education and programs,” said Kelly Batterson, Executive Director of ACA.
New Board Member Highlights:
Andrea Bonner: Chair of Consumer Arts and Sciences at Houston Community College and owner of Style On Demand.
Drue DaSilva: Lifelong Houston resident, community leader, and University of Houston alumna.
Gina Evans: Physician, art collector, and advocate for the arts on social media.
Kristin Jensen: Marketing professional, small business owner, and artist.
Michael Macedo Meazell: Houstonian artist with a studio in the Big Thicket National Preserve.
Kate Robertson: Educational consultant and community volunteer.
Heather Staible: Journalist and Marketing Director for The Alexander Group.
The Bayou City Art Festival, happening October 11-13, 2024, will celebrate over 50 years of bringing unique art experiences to Houston. The festival will feature 300 artists, live entertainment, food trucks, a craft beer and wine garden, an Active Imagination Zone, and more. This premier fall outdoor art festival offers guests the chance to view and purchase unique artworks while supporting local organizations and promoting the impact of art on the Houston community.
