The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts Expands ExxonMobil Discovery Series for 2024-25 Season

The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts is doubling down on its commitment to arts education with an expanded ExxonMobil Discovery Series for the 2024-25 season. This initiative, set to serve approximately 20,000 fifth-grade students, offers free access to live theatre, music, and dance performances by Houston-based artists and arts organizations. The program includes bus transportation and logistical coordination to reduce barriers to arts access.

Following a successful inaugural season that reached 118 schools, the expansion will now include schools from Aldine, Pasadena, and Dickinson ISDs, among others. The ExxonMobil Discovery Series aims to enrich students' educational experiences by providing pre- and post-performance learning materials that align with Texas teaching objectives. By fostering early exposure to the arts, the program helps develop students’ creativity, communication, relationship-building, and leadership skills.
