Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston is set to provide essential supplies, including food, water, and cleaning materials, to individuals and families recovering from Hurricane Beryl. A drive-thru distribution event is scheduled for Saturday, July 13, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the agency’s headquarters, located at 2900 Louisiana Street in Houston.
Counselors will be available to support those experiencing severe trauma due to the hurricane, and prayer resources can be requested on-site.
Starting next week, limited financial assistance will be offered through online applications. Further details will be posted on Catholic Charities’ social media channels and website.
Additionally, the agency has distributed food bags at the Mamie George Community Center in Fort Bend and the Beacon of Hope Center in Galveston.
The Mamie George Community Center, located at 1111 Collins Road in Richmond, will operate as a cooling center on Friday, July 12, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to provide relief from the heat.
