2024 Houston Theater Week Generates Over $1 Million for Local Arts Group

Thanks to the support of consumers throughout the Greater Houston area, the third annual Houston Theater Week delivered a history-making performance. The Buy One, Get One Free ticket deals generated more than $1.3 million in revenue for local performing arts groups of all sizes. That’s an increase of 46.5% over 2023.

Consumers purchased more than 30,000 tickets across more than 260 diverse shows that included music, dance and theater. Houston Theater Week is different from similar events across the nation, which only offer discounts on theater.

“This year’s response from the greater Houston community to Theater Week was simply outstanding. It’s particularly rewarding to see the collaboration between the performing arts groups and Houston First develop into such a valuable and impactful initiative for our city’s creative community and consumers. Our goal with this program has always been to support professionals in the performing arts, and help build a broader audience base by giving consumers an opportunity to experience quality live shows at a discount,” said Michael Heckman, president and CEO of Houston First Corporation.

The partnership between Houston First and the performing arts community is a win for everyone. Houston First has invested in the marketing, advertising, promotions and creation of a website exclusively for Theater Week, so that the performing arts groups could focus on what shows and how many tickets they would make available.
