As Harris County continues to recover from the devastating impact of Hurricane Beryl, FEMA is stepping up efforts to provide critical support to affected residents. On Friday, August 30, FEMA will open two new Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) in the area, offering personalized assistance to Texans in need.

New Disaster Recovery Center Locations

Residents can now visit the following locations for help:

1. George H.W. Bush Community Center

   6827 Cypresswood Drive  

   Spring, TX 77379

2. Milton Lusk Activity Center

   1022 Mercury Drive  

   Houston, TX 77029

These centers will operate from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and will be closed on Sundays. Whether you were affected by Hurricane Beryl or the storms and flooding from April 26 to June 5, you can visit any of the open DRCs for assistance.

Comprehensive Support for Affected Residents

At the DRCs, residents can receive one-on-one assistance from FEMA representatives and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). The centers are fully accessible and equipped with assistive technology to accommodate individuals with disabilities or those with access and functional needs. 

Residents from the following counties are encouraged to visit the centers for support: Austin, Bowie, Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Jackson, Jasper, Jefferson, Liberty, Matagorda, Montgomery, Nacogdoches, Orange, Polk, San Jacinto, Shelby, Trinity, Walker, Waller, and Wharton.

To minimize wait times, FEMA encourages residents to apply for assistance before visiting a DRC. You can apply in several convenient ways:

Online:Visit DisasterAssistance.gov

FEMA App: Download the FEMA App on your mobile device for easy access to resources and application forms.

Phone: Call the FEMA helpline at 800-621-3362 between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. Assistance is available in multiple languages. If you use a relay service, provide FEMA with your specific relay service number.

After applying, you can visit any DRC for follow-up help or to get your questions answered in person.
