Prairie View A&M University Celebrates Outstanding Graduates at 113th Summer Commencement

 Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU) is proud to announce its 113th Summer Commencement Convocation, set to take place on August 10, 2024. This year, the ceremony will honor 273 graduates from eight colleges, celebrating their hard work and achievements. Following this event, the university's total alumni count will surpass 83,825, further enriching the legacy of the “Proud and Productive Panthers.”

As the summer semester comes to a close, faculty members have highlighted four exceptional students whose inspiring journeys exemplify PVAMU's motto: Excellence Lives Here. Each of these graduates has pushed through challenges to reach this pivotal moment in their lives.

Inspiring Graduate Profiles

Arianna Williams 

 Degree: Bachelor of Business Administration, Management  

Background: A native Houstonian, Arianna is graduating at just 19 years old, having completed her degree in under four years. A first-generation college graduate, she has been accepted into law school and serves as the founding president of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at PVAMU. Arianna attributes her success to her mother's unwavering support.

Carterica Clark

Degree: Bachelor of Business Administration, Management  

Background: Hailing from Shreveport, Louisiana, Carterica is also a first-generation college student and a successful small-business owner. While pursuing her degree, she utilized the knowledge gained from PVAMU’s business management programs to start her own company. She has secured internships at prestigious institutions, including the Federal Reserve Bank and the Federal Home Loan Bank, and will join Cintas, a Fortune 500 company, post-graduation.

Tyishia S. N. Goldsberry 

Degree: Doctor of Business Administration  

Background: From Portsmouth, Virginia, Tyishia continues her family legacy of academic achievement as part of the largest doctoral graduating class at PVAMU and the inaugural cohort of Doctor of Business Administration candidates. Fulfulling her late mother’s dream of attending an HBCU, she is published in the Journal of Business Diversity and is an active member of the National Honor Society of Leadership and Success. Tyishia is also an entrepreneur, managing several businesses with plans for further expansion.

Charity Rain Sanders

Degree: Bachelor of Science, Agriculture (Pre-Veterinarian)  

Background: Born and raised in Houston, Charity has excelled in the demanding College of Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources at PVAMU. She participated in the Future Aggie Veterinarian Experience Program at Texas A&M University and was recently accepted into Purdue University's Vet Up Program for Summer 2024. In addition to her academic pursuits, Charity has volunteered at local veterinary hospitals and worked at a mobile veterinary clinic.
