Fine Arts Week kicks off with the soul-stirring melodies of the Monterey Jazz Festival, featuring Darin Atwater, Artistic Director of the Festival, on April 4th and 5th. Throughout the week, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a diverse array of workshops, panels, and performances, culminating in the highly anticipated production of the musical, The Color Purple.

Join us on April 12th and 13th for exhilarating performances of The Color Purple, a musical masterpiece that weaves together jazz, ragtime, gospel, African music, and blues. This poignant tale of resilience, love, and redemption promises to captivate audiences and leave a lasting impact on all who experience it.

Throughout the week, attendees can also engage in a series of workshops led by industry experts. From a Jazz Big Band rehearsal featuring Dr. Brian Perez and TSU students to a Theatrical Intimacy Workshop with Avery Kenyatta, there's something for everyone to enjoy. Additionally, don't miss the insightful panel on "Making Money in Music" and the Opera Workshop scenes presented by Dr. Cassandra Black and TSU students.

A highlight of Fine Arts Week is the special talk with acclaimed actor Edwin Lee Gibson, moderated by The Ensemble Theatre's Artistic Director, Mrs. Eileen Morris. This intimate conversation provides a unique opportunity to gain insight into Gibson's illustrious career and his journey from TSU graduate to award-winning actor.
