Dr. Letosha Gale-Lowe Officially Sworn in as Fort Bend County's Local Health Authority

The Office of the County Judge and Fort Bend County Health and Human Services confirmed the appointment of Dr. Letosha Gale-Lowe as the new Local Health Authority (LHA) for Fort Bend County. Fort Bend County Judge KP George administered the oath on Thursday, September 28, 2023.

With an impressive background in public health and clinical service, Dr. Gale-Lowe steps into this role, ready to further the health objectives of the county. Her past tenure as Chief Physician with the Houston Health Department, where she served a population of over two million residents, exemplifies her commitment and capability.

Dr. Gale-Lowe's connection with Fort Bend County is long-standing. Her past roles include Board Member and Chief of Staff at OakBend Medical Center and Medical Director for the Fort Bend County Jail from 2005-2012.

Having earned her BA in Chemistry from Fisk University and her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Dr. Gale-Lowe is also pursuing her Master's in Public Health at the University of Texas at Houston. She resides in Fulshear and remains a steadfast Fort Bend County community member.

On the appointment, Judge KP George remarked, "Dr. Gale-Lowe's vast experience and dedication to public health make her an invaluable asset to our county. We look forward to the advancements we can achieve in public health under her guidance."
