Acclaimed showroom BeDESIGN was drew in a veritable Who’s Who of Houston interior design enthusiasts and social swells last night for a multi-floor extravaganza that took guests on a sensory-melding journey over the course of several hours, culminating with the unveiling of the showroom’s massive new addition, complete with rooftop glam boasting unobstructed skyline views.
Co-owners and life partners Adrian Dueñas and Marcelo Saenz basked in the glow of a glorious night 10-years in the making as they unveiled their eye-popping three-story show palace with well-wishers lining up to congratulate the dynamic duo. “You can’t say I don’t know how to throw a good party,” Dueñas mused.
A boisterous and diverse crowd sipped on glasses of Frerejean Freres Premier Cru Brut Rose sourced straight from the French countryside. The progressive evening toured attendees through BeDESIGN’s newly-expanded showroom, which showcases more than 40 of the world’s most celebrated European designer lines and serves as the flagship for B&B Italia, Baxter, Maxalto, Fendi Casa, Flexform, Ligne Roset, Molenti&C, and Paola Lenti.
From level one – which called for musical stylings from DIVISI Strings and bites in the form of truffle and cumin macarons and lychee ceviche from Galleria Indian hot spot Musaafer – to level two, where chanteuse Lady Laurana dazzled partygoers with a stirring cover of Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance with Somebody,” the lavish event featured no shortage of entertainment. After noshing on endless amounts of custom-wrapped steak tartare in edible BeDESIGN paper, patatas bravas and aguacate pizza from popular River Oaks see-and-be-seen restaurant MAD, guests transitioned to the third-floor indoor/outdoor rooftop lounge for the final act.
The vision of BeDESIGN began in 2013 with a singular mission: to bring the best of the best in European contemporary home furniture and accessory designers together in an equally beautiful setting. Ten years later, Adrian and Marcelo toasted a milestone anniversary and the debut of their new 22,000-square-foot showroom in vibrant Montrose on the edge of Upper Kirby and River Oaks with an over-the-top bash that gathered more than 200 of the power couple’s clients, friends and interior designers.
Dueñas and Saenz addressed the legions of design enthusiasts in attendance – thanking their partners, friends, the City of Houston, and its appreciation for avant-garde style and global design. Upon finishing their remarks, dancers from vibe dining staple CIEL hit the dance floor with their signature sparklers to put a show-stopping capstone on a successful evening.
Bayou City A-listers taking in the multi-faceted ambiance, decadent bites, and free-flowing libations included Carrie and Sverre Bransberg-Dahl, April and Jorge Salazar, Beth Wolff, Bryan Caswell and Erin Hicks, Luis Roger, Arturo Chavez, Felipe and Hayley Riccio, Sam Katz and Paola Contreras, Nina Magon, Lee and Cookie Centracco, and Edward Finger.
