The O'Kane Gallery at the University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) is hosting its final spring exhibition, High Art 2023, May 13–20, with the opening reception on Saturday, May 13, 2 - 4 p.m. The annual High Art exhibition features student work from high schools throughout the Houston area. Nineteen high schools are participating in this year's exhibition with a variety of media including sculpture, painting, drawing, jewelry, video, photography, and ceramics. Thanks to Anne Trask, former director of the O’Kane Gallery, High Art made its debut in the late ‘90s. UHD Professor of Art Mark Cervenka continued the tradition when he took the reins as Gallery Director in 2000. (Pictured left: Jeraldine Monje, Westside High School)
