Candidate for Mayor Gilbert Garcia broadcasting Live Radio Show from Andy's in the Heights

Gilbert Garcia, candidate for Mayor of the City of Houston, has been broadcasting a live one- hour radio show for over two years called “A TIP From Gilbert”. The show highlights a wide range of topics including community events, social issues, small businesses, success stories, and many other important subject matters to Houstonians.

This Monday, July 3rd, at 11am, Gilbert will broadcast his radio show live at Andy's Home Cafe in the Heights. He plans to interview the owner and his daughter, Tomas Morales and Monica Morales, to talk about the issues their small business is facing. This Mexican American restaurant is scheduled to close on July 9, 2023, after 46 years of service in the Heights. This is one of the many small businesses that has been impacted by the economic issues surrounding the Houston area.

Gilbert is a big supporter of small businesses, especially minority owned. He acknowledges that they bring growth and innovation to local communities and help support economic growth. One of the pillars of his “Pledge to Houston” is that he will work to improve the quality of life for all Houstonians, including small business owners. The public is invited to attend the live broadcast at Andy’s Restaurant from 11am to 12pm located at 1115 E. 11th St Houston, TX 77009. They can listen to the show through various radio stations including KWWJ 1360AM/96.9FM, KYOK 1140AM, KCOH The Source 1230AM, Aliento Radio 1540AM/101.7FM and Sangeet Radio 95.1FM/1460AM.
