MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin (WISN) -- A 15-year-old boy is facing 10 charges in connection to a shooting after the Juneteenth festival celebrations last Monday.

The boy is being charged as a juvenile in Children's Court. Because he's in the juvenile system, WISN 12 News is not naming him.

He faces four counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety as a party to a crime, two counts of first-degree reckless injury as a party to a crime, and also,

one count of possession of a firearm by adjudicated delinquent, one count of possession of a dangerous weapon by a person under 18, one count of violation of nonsecure custody order, one count of disorderly conduct Seven of the ten charges are felonies. The 15-year-old was out on probation for gun charges, wearing a GPS ankle monitor at the time of the mass shooting.

According to the juvenile petition obtained by 12 News, the boy shot six teenagers between the ages of 14 and 19.

Police say the shooting happened near MLK Jr. Drive and Chambers Street around 4:20 p.m. Monday, June 19. According to the document, a fight broke out among two girls. "Then a number of girls joined in and were assaulting one girl," the petition reads. It goes on to say the fight escalated into an altercation between two groups and that's when the 15-year-old boy pulled out a gun and fired 4-10 shots.

The juvenile petition says the boy shot a 17-year-old girl in the neck and knee and a 17-year-old boy in both thighs. Both teens were rushed to Children's Hospital for emergency surgery. The other four victims suffered gunshot wounds to their legs. All are expected to survive.

The 15-year-old is being held at the Vel R. Phillips Juvenile Justice Center. His first court appearance is scheduled for Thursday, June 29, at 2:30 p.m. inside Children's Court.

Police originally said they arrested two of the victims, a 17-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man in connection to the shooting but later said the 15-year-old boy is the suspected sole shooter. MPD says separate charges are still pending for the 17-year-old.
