Fort Bend County to Hold Press Conference to Announce Community Economic Development Agreement with Area Nonprofits

Aims to Address County’s Homelessness Population

Fort Bend County Judge KP George along with Fort Bend Area nonprofit organizations, will hold a press conference at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at the Fort Bend County Emergency Operations Center, 307 Fort St., Richmond, TX 77469, to announce the Community and Economic Development Agreement between Fort Bend County and Attack Poverty.

The agreement aims will allocate funds for a multiphase transitional housing program to strengthen under-resourced communities through education and revitalization efforts. By addressing the housing needs of individuals and families, the program aims to create a solid foundation for economic and social growth within the county.

Judge George will be joined by Fulshear Mayor Aaron Groff, Fort Bend County Precinct 4 Commissioner Dexter McCoy, Fort Bend Economic Development Director Carlos Guzman, Attack Poverty Chief Executive Officer Brandon Baca with Attack Poverty, and Parks Youth Ranch Executive Director Shannan Stavinoha to elaborate on various aspects of the agreement, such as the funding allocation, the timeline for the transitional housing program, and the anticipated impact on the local economy.
