The Prairie View A&M University Panther football team has announced kick-off times for the 2023 season, which includes four home contests at Panther Stadium.
The Panthers are slated to open the season on the road against the Texas Southern Tigers for the annual Labor Day Classic on Saturday, Sept. 2, at the newly named Shell Energy Stadium (formerly PNC Stadium). The game kicks off at 7 p.m. The television/streaming network for the contest will be determined later.
PVAMU opens its home schedule at Panther Stadium the following week on Saturday, Sept. 9, hosting the Abilene Christian Wildcats. The game is set for 6 p.m. and will be shown on the Panther Vision Network.
The Panthers hit the road for a Saturday evening (6 p.m.) contest on Sept. 16 against non-conference school, the Southern Methodist Mustangs. The game will be televised on ESPN+. A conference road game the following week on Saturday, Sept. 23, at the Alcorn Braves reservation in Lorman, Mississippi, versus Alcorn State kicks off at 4 p.m.
Although considered a home game for the Panthers, the site will be neutral as PVAMU heads to Dallas to host the Grambling State Tigers for the 98th State Fair Classic. The game on Saturday, Sept. 30, will be played in the Cotton Bowl. Prairie View A&M will return to Panther Stadium the following week, on Oct. 7, for a bout with Mississippi Valley State. The 6 p.m. matchup will be shown on the Panther Vision Network.
A final non-conference road game versus the Houston Christian Huskies on Saturday, Oct. 14, kicks off at 6 p.m. After taking a week off, the Panthers will return to action on Oct. 28 to take a flight over to Florida to face the Rattlers of Florida A&M at 4 p.m.
On Saturday, Nov. 4, PVAMU hosts the Arkansas Pine Bluff Golden Lions for Homecoming at Panther Stadium in a 2 p.m. matchup on HBCUGO. The following week on Saturday, Nov. 11, the Panthers head up I-10 to take on the Jaguars of Southern in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, for a 2 p.m. showdown.
Prairie View A&M concludes its 2023 regular season with a bout versus Alabama State on Saturday, Nov. 18, at Panther Stadium. The game will be broadcast on the Panther Vision Network at 2 p.m.
The Southwestern Athletic Conference Championship will be held on Dec. 2.
