πQuick Catch Up: Former Houston City Council Member, Amanda Edwards, running for Texas' 18th Congressional District, has announced her campaign raised over $600K within just 11 days of her declaration on June 19, 2023. Looks like she's off to a strong start in her quest to succeed Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee who has her sights on the Houston Mayor's role. By June 30, Edwards' campaign already had a cash-on-hand amount of over $569K. π°
Edwards is thrilled by the rapid support and momentum, "We're amazed at the enthusiastic response in such a short span. Grateful for the overwhelming support that bolsters our mission to prioritize people over politics and foster a thriving community." π
She has already earned an endorsement from the renowned national African-American PAC, Higher Heights PAC, early in her campaign. π
Edwards, a native Houstonian, Harvard Law School graduate and lawyer, is no stranger to public service or community building. For more about her, visit www.edwardsforhouston.com. ππ
