Bach Society Houston, a Houston area professional choir and orchestra performing the works of Johann Sebastian Bach and his contemporaries, opens its 2023-2024 season with Oktoberfest Bach Vespers.

Featuring the Bach Choir, instrumentalists, and the magnificent Bach Organ at Christ the King Lutheran Church, the performance highlights Cantata “Die Elenden sollen essen,” B.W.V. 75, on its 300th anniversary.

Admission is free, with donations accepted. Bratwurst and beer will be available for purchase at the Christ the King Oktoberfest on the church grounds after the concert. The Oktoberfest will also feature the Magnolia City Brass Band, directed by Bob Walp.
