Sheraton Suites Houston, located in Uptown Houston near the Galleria and River Oaks District, will rebrand as The Chifley, Tapestry Collection by Hilton. The rebrand includes renovations to 284 suite-style rooms and 8,000 square feet of meeting space designed for business and social gatherings. The hotel, which will attract leisure, business, and group travelers, will also feature a destination dining establishment, Rouse, offering an eclectic mix of craft cocktails and cuisine.
“Our well-appointed suites will be some of the largest in Houston,” said Brett Orlando, Managing Director. “As a Tapestry Collection by Hilton hotel, we will offer guests upscale ambience and amenities in a setting with its own unique style and vibrant personality, not to mention direct proximity to Houston’s most exclusive and premiere shopping districts.”
The name Chifley is inspired by the “schiffli” weaving process, which utilizes hundreds of needles to carefully stitch patterns into lace, reflecting the diverse culture and community in Houston. “The character of The Chifley will fit perfectly with Houston’s forward-thinking, independent spirit,” added Orlando. “Guests who spend the night here will feel the energy and be able to soak in the culture of the area.”
Rouse, a name that embodies the establishment’s desire to awaken and stir diners with flavors and flair, will seat 76 in their main dining area and 50 at their bar and offer a fusion of Barbecue, Mexican, and Asian cuisine. “This concept will surely shake the food scene up in the Galleria,” concluded Orlando. “Like The Chifley, Rouse will embrace all of our community’s cultures, with an infinite number of cuisine combinations so diners won’t have to settle for one flavor.”
Renovations have begun and are expected to be completed in Fall 2022. Driftwood Hospitality Management, a North Palm Beach-based hotel management company, will manage the property, along with its 70 other hotels throughout the U.S.
“In a large city with many hotels, we will stand out by bringing the best of Houston — art, music, food, and flavors — to one place,” added Carol Davies, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Driftwood Hospitality Management. “The property will attract business and leisure guests alike, who desire a fresh, different place to stay. We are confident everything will be better at the Chifley.”
The Chifley will be located at 2400 W Loop S, Houston, TX 77027.
