The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival has emerged as the yearly big bad when it comes to music festivals. The 2017 lineup was announced earlier this morning with headliners Radiohead, Beyoncé & Kendrick Lamar. The lineup also features heavy hitters such as Gucci Mane making his Coachella debut, Lorde making her return and more. The festival will once again take place on two separate weekends from April 14 to 16, and April 21 through 23. All of the action will take place at the Empire Polo Field in Indio, California.
Coachella 2017 officially marks the year that long-running festival stopped playing with other festivals and let their proverbial nuts hang. Hans Zimmer, the composer of film scores such as Gladiator, The Dark Knight and more is performing. That, is ridiculous. New Order will be making their second U.S. performance in more than a decade at Coachella 2017. Lorde will be returning to the festival for her first show since November 2014. The Avalanches’, who recently released a new album Wildflower last year will be performing for the first time on U.S. soil in over 15 years.
Other acts on the bill include Travis Scott, the xx, Father John Misty, Future Islands, Kaytranada, Future, ScHoolboy Q, Thundercat, Lil Uzi Vert, DJ Khaled, GoldLink & more.
