- Fulfilling your passion while working your day job can be a hard balance if you don’t know how to navigate it. The Houston Association of Black Journalists invited all to learn how to chart the process at their Beyond the Lens event where local news talent and producers told what it takes to pursue your passion and purpose outside the newsroom. Panelists included Shannon Lanier, Stefania Okolie, Jonathan Martin, and Tera Tidum. Some in attendance were Nakia Cooper, Micole Williams, ShaVonne Herdon, Christopher Allen, and Alexia McClerkin-Johnson.
