Photography by Vicky Pink - Members of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Foundation hosted the 11th Annual Leaders of Democracy Awards Luncheon to honor those who are a beacon of inspiration and work towards democracy, justice, hope, and love. The 2018 honorees were the Honorable Joyce Beatty, the Honorable Gregory Meeks, Edward Stack, Dr. Freeman Hrabowski, and Dr. Kase and Eileen Lawal. Some in attendance were Ed Gordon, Harry E. Johnson, Guy Vickers, Rev. Dr. Gwendolyn Boyd, Cynthia Givens, Sandra Evers-Manly, Congressman Al Green, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, Roland Martin, Melinda Spaulding, and Dr. Austin Lane.
