Lee Honors Fallen Military and Women Veterans

Photography by Vicky Pink - On Memorial Day Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee recalled the sacrifice of those who have given their last full measure of devotion defending our country and standing for the cause of freedom. During the program, she honored the late Leonard Luther Ball, who was instrumental in the construction of this memorial. This year’s commemoration of Memorial Day was also the 70th Anniversary of the Women’s Armed Services Integration Act. Women Veterans Judy Cushman Dubose, Camella Andrews, Keli Chevalier, Mathilda Montgomery and Mallory Valle were honored. An honoree of The Mission Continues, Nestor Mavis, will also be present, as was Olivia Christina Bush, an honoree of It’s My Time to Serve. CDR Rosalind Brooks, USN (ret.) was the guest speaker.
