Photography by Vicky Pink - The Tougaloo College Houston Area Alumni hosted its 26th Annual "A Night of Jazz with A Touch of R & B.” The chapter celebrated 26 years of great jazz and spreading the word about the Eagle Queen, Tougaloo College. This annual event is the signature fundraiser for the association to support the college directly and to fund books and/or scholarships for local students attending Tougaloo College. Sybil Wilkes. Co-host of the Tom Joyner Morning Show was honored with the chapter's highest award, "The Soaring Eagle Award." Her grandfather was a professor at the college and her grandmother is a former student. Some in attendance were Felicia Gilbert, Rose Austin, Helen and Charles Houston.
