CBCF 5th Executive Economic Summit VIP Reception

Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee hosted the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF) 5th Executive Economic Summit. A VIP Reception was had to welcome the delegation to Houston. During the reception, Helping Hands to the Community and SAFE Diversity Communities received $2,000 each for their ongoing missions. The distinguished delegation for the CDCF discussed relevant economic issues, especially during this current post-Hurricane Harvey period. Themed “After Hurricane Harvey: Economic Lessons Learned and the Role of Business in National Disaster Relief Efforts,” the Summit focused on mapping minority access to capital with business leaders and others in the financial services sector in addition to those our communities impacted by Hurricane Harvey. Some in attendance were Mayor Sylvester Turner, Rev. Jesse L. Jackson, Dr. Austin Lane, Loren Lane, Carl Davis, Erica Lee Carter, State Rep. Ron Reynolds, Commissioner Rodney Ellis, and Mary Young.
